Ruben Hein

Ruben Hein is a Dutch jazz-pop singer, pianist, and composer who refuses to be boxed in. Trained at the Amsterdam Conservatory, he's performed with Pete Philly & Perquisite, played in Hans Teeuwen's band, and signed with Blue Note—but his path has always been his own. His 2010 debut Loose Fit, recorded in Malmö with producers Stefan Kruger and Fons Merkies, established him as a unique voice in European jazz. His 2018 album Groundwork Rising solidified that reputation, with the lead single Everything I Say named a TopSong on NPO Radio 2. He's played North Sea Jazz, Eurosonic Noorderslag, and Java Jazz in Jakarta. He's supported Simply Red at Ziggo Dome and won Wie is de Mol? in 2017—not because he's chasing fame, but because he's unafraid to take risks. Ruben's work is about exploration. Not perfection. Not trends. Just honest, evolving artistry.
