Kovacs
Sharon Kovacs is a force. Emerging from the music college and open mic nights of Eindhoven with a shaved head and the voice of a soul legend, she's carved out a space entirely her own. Her 2014 EP My Love, partly recorded in Cuba, became an instant European hit—reaching Number One in Greece and charting in 36 countries. But it's not about the numbers. It's about the raw, bare-hearted soul she delivers—echoes of Holiday, Simone, Bassey, Winehouse, and Portishead's Beth Gibbons, but unmistakably Kovacs. Her debut album Shades Of Black hit Number One in the Netherlands and made the Top Ten in Germany. Her second, Cheap Smell, was a brutally honest exploration of finding positivity in life's toughest moments. Her third album, recorded at legendary RAK Studios in London with producer Jonathan Quarmby, pushed even further. Kovacs doesn't make music for trends. She makes music that lives.
